Serra dos Orgaos National Park
Poço Verde Waterfall
Teresopolis and Guapimirim
The Serra dos Orgaos National Park is located 1 hour by car from
Rio de Janeiro, and it is one of the most preserved rainforest
areas in southern Brazil. The origin of the unusual name Serra
dos Órgãos (the Organ Hills) is credited to early
Portuguese settlers who thought the ensemble of the hill tops
resembled the organs in European cathedrals. In this tour, we
will visit Poço Verde Waterfall, and the upper parts of
the Park, at Teresopolis. Make sure you bring a swim suit.
